Elite Forces Physical Conditioning Course – 8 Credit Hours - When an Officer is employed by a Law Enforcement agency they undergo a physical agility test that determines that they are fit to perform the task required by their duties.  This fitness level established for the purpose of passing the academy is required by the P.O.S.T. Commission (Police Officers Standard of Training).  This level of fitness directly coincides with the defensive tactics and use of force programs taught.  When an Officer allows them-selves to get out of conditioning it limits their abilities to perform these task.  As a result the use of excessive force is imminent.  Not being able to physically perform the defensive tactics necessary in order to survive can results in a negative outcome.  First an excessive level of force is required to protect the Officer’s life (Outcome Lawsuit).  Second the Officer sustains an injury due to their inapt level of performance (Outcome Worker’s Compensation).   Either way the department pays for the Officers lack of motivation to stay fit.   This course is designed to use both body weight exercises and defensive tactics moments to maintain an individual’s physical fitness levels with only thirty minutes a day training.  This course is taught by the Certified Instructors of the C.O.P.S. program officially recognized by the Korean and Chinese Military Training Councils.  Director of Training Colonel James Hogwood has over 25 years’ experience working with and training Law Enforcement Personnel in court defendable solutions to aggressive behavior.

The use of nerves and lever bars are considered soft empty hand techniques, and are the most likely tactics an Officer will deploy during an incident.  If administrators are looking for ways to limit exposure to litigation brought on by liability issues with force, than this is your program.

Use of Force Course – 8 Credit Hours - Trainers, Supervisors, Internal Affairs, and Administrators need this course to clarify their actions form the point a Probation Officer is trained till the End of Their Careers.  It is and always has been the focus on every use of force case, how was the officer trained and who trained them or who wrote the policies and how were they enforced.  It should always be noted that common practice supersedes policy in legal litigation.  This being said Officers must perform the actions correctly according to policy and the supervisors must enforce the actions according to policy or the policy is worthless.  This course is designed to explain the different levels of force, give individuals the options of levels according to their department’s needs, and help them to develop a policy for their agency that is court defensible.
